Interpersonal Therapy
« on: March 12, 2012, 09:10:11 PM »
I'm starting IPT next week and just wondered if anyone knows anything about it? I did discuss with my cpn and I know its supposed to help me form relationships but it kind of went in one ear and out the other. I've looked it up on internet but can only find academic stuff that doesn't make a lot of sense.

I've never heard of it but it sounds good. Must be something to do with relating to others as that is what interpersonal means I think.

Good luck with it.

Hi,

There's a short summary of what it is on this NHS page that is less about the academic!

Good luck with it  :)

Hi Terrier,

I am currently seeing a psychotherapist who describes herself as doing IPT, as well as other things. I am finding it difficult but useful. I'm not sure what to say really because I don't know what you're thinking, but I think it can be helpful. Let me know if you have any more specific questions!
