Strength and Hope

« on: June 06, 2008, 11:23:39 PM »

This self help group is an open group, with the aim of providing free space for people with experience of self-harm to come together and share experiences/offer each other advice from their own experience.  It is called PUSH (People Understanding Self-Harm).

Hi Everyone
I noticed the information on here is now out of date.  PUSH is no longer running but I now run a new group with Cheryl every Tuesday evening 6pm til 8pm.  We are a friendly, supportive group, meeting once a week to talk and share our experiences. We're non-judgemental, and all share personal experience of self-harm. The group is open to everyone, with no appointment or referral necessary

SHARE (Self Harm Awareness & Recovery for Everyone)
Tuesday from 6pm – 8pm
At The Zion Community Centre
339 Stretford Road
Hulme, Manchester
M15 4ZY

SHARE has just been launched at the Zion Community Centre in Manchester. It is a self-help self-harm group, facilitated by volunteers, for anyone who is experiencing issues around self-harm. We meet once a week for a chat and a cup of tea - sometimes we talk about our experiences of self-harm, depression and other mental health problems, sometimes we talk about movies, food, holidays etc! We're here just to provide a space where we can learn from each other, and have two hours a week where we don't feel judged or different because of self-harm

We would be grateful if you can spread the word to people you know in the Manchester area - either by sharing the group invite with them, or by passing on the e-mail address.

Cheers
Jane and Cheryl
