Maze Pens, excellant distraction. They were free to any new members that joined the charity in December. You can get them on the NSHN ebay site too.

The charity is now offering 'snap wraps'. These are an excellent distraction technique that can be used on wrists or ankles. The wraps come as a flat band but when slapped against the wrist they wrap around. They can then be re-straightend easily as they snap back into their original form and can be continually re-used. The wraps are simply orange (colour of self harm awareness) with 'nshn' printed in black on the strip. An example can be viewed here:

http://www.promota.co.uk/products/2007/2007_7202.jpg

These will be sent free to current charity members and will also be supplied free to new charity members.

Non-members can purchase them at a cost of £3.00 (Inc P&P) by sending a cheque or postal order to:
NSHN
PO Box 7264
Nottingham
NG1 6WJ

Cheque and postal orders should be made out to 'National Self Harm Network'.

*Please note that the link for membership on the main site is currently out of order and will shortly be replaced by a downloadable membership form PDF. If you would like to join the charity in the meantime please contact a member of the co-coordinating group which is detailed here:

http://www.nshn.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=6983.0

Members receive an information pack of charity leaflets, resource list, distraction techniques, publications list, newsletters and news bulletins. Whilst all donations are gratefully received, membership is free. Any information sent out by the charity is delivered in plain envelopes with no exterior indication of the sender.
