*Could Trig ED* Weight lose shakes
« on: February 25, 2012, 03:57:17 PM »
Not sure if this is in the right place so i apologize in advance encase is the wrong place  :blushing:

I am overweight, and really want to bring my weight back down within range
I dont have the money for gyms and things, also dont have to confidence to do anything public like that
Since getting my dog about a month ago, i walk her everyday for about 2 hours average, im a fast walker, you could prob even say i was power walking most of the time
I have been taking a diet pill (i saw my doctor first about this, please always check with your doctor before taking any type of diet pill!) for about a month now, is more one that makes me crave food less
I know i cant say weights, but these combined i have lost a bit of weight, but one choc bar later and have put it back on, so isnt really getting me anywhere, kinda one step forward, one step back...

Have been looking online at diet shakes, but im not all that sure what im looking for, do any of you know of any good ones that are cheap? Of course im not buying any shakes until i get the all clear from my doctor that one he is ok with me doing this and two they are genuine and safe ect

I dont have a ED, or anything like that, i could just do with losing a few stones to get back into "average, healthy" range ect
I have found one site, that sells them at 99p each or something, but the site (to me) doesnt look very provisional eg real
Im trying to think of the name of that well know one......but just cant think of it
So yer any advice ect would be really useful right now
Thanks :hug2:

I have found one, the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 plan which is this

Pick 3 snacks a day. A fruit, veggies or a Slim-Fast snack. Choose 2 Slim-Fast meals: shakes or bars. Have 1 sensible 600 calorie meal. Drink at least 2 litres of water and get some exercise.

The shakes you can buy in powered bulk, and is cheap, so are the snacks and bars
And means i still get to eat a 600 calorie meal in the evening

I think i will run this one by my doctor, and ask him about it, but has anyone here heard of it? Or maybe is on this diet? Basically, does it work?

Slim-Fast is quite well known, yeah. That said, potentially anything would work given you'd lower your calorie intake but realistically you may hate the flavour and rigidness of products/fad diets like those, and crave your 'normal' foods. It's better for a long term lifestyle change to find a way to incorporate the foods you like and would regularly buy into a healthy regime. Could you talk to your GP about seeing a nutritionist, who may be able to give you more specialist guidance?

Oddly, i have taken a nutrition course as it was part of my health and social care
At the moment, its hard to eat right cos i only have a microwave, and with this last year being as bad as it has been, i put on a lot, i need a way to lose it, while saving for a cooker, so when im back to "average" weight, i can start keeping that weight with the right foods and stuff
If that makes sense
I was gonna start seeing a health trainer, but bottled out
But i know one of the nurse while i was in hospital was on this shakes diet, and doing well on it and stuff, so wouldnt mind giving it ago just to get it back under control again or something

My friend did slim fast years ago, it did work for her but she said she was hungry all the time.  She has kept the weight off for at least a decade by lifestyle changes and going to the gym.

I am currently seeing a health trainer, I've seen her twice now and started to loose weight.
When you feel like letting go, hold on.

Courage does not always roar.
Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
